Real World History[]
The Benelli M4 is an Italian shotgun designed due to a call from the U.S. Army's Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) for a semi-automatic combat shotgun. Benelli Armi SpA, a subsidiary of Beretta, designed the M4 in response to this tender. The M4 cycles using a proprietary auto-regulating gas operation (ARGO) system, essentially a short-stroke piston design with changes to lighten and simplify the action of the weapon compared to other semi-automatic shotguns. The Benelli M4 won the tender and was delivered to the U.S. Marine Corps in 1999 in a batch of 20,000, designated the M1014. Since then, the Benelli M4 has found its way into the hands of law enforcement and militaries all over the world, with notable usage by the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea, and Ireland.

Strategies[]
- The M1014 is not a huge improvement over cheaper shotguns, and the AA-12, with all its full-auto awesomeness, is only $10,000 more expensive. Therefore, purchasing this weapon is not suggested.
- Using the SOP for all SGs, get close enough to land all pellets, try to conserve ammo, and reload all the time.
- Since it has C. Receiver, you can use this as a budget AA-12 if you really want to.
Trivia[]
- The M1014 is the weapon in The Final Stand 2 named in the style M(n) with the largest (n).
- The player can effectively fire directly from the reserve by holding down M1 while on full-auto, however with a much slower RPM.
